Since I was little, art has always had some presence in my life. Whether that was drawing or crafting or collaging, art, like dance, has provided me with a sense of relief. It wasn’t until high school, however, that art started to become more prevalent in my daily life. Quickly, I found myself dedicating my weekends to working on an art project or just doodling in a notebook. Freshman year, I took Contemporary Media and Art, a year-long class that experimented with all forms of mediums including drawing, painting, collaging, photography and more. The following year, I took Jewelry class both semesters. As a completely unfamiliar subject, I fell in love with the ability to wear your own creations. Junior year, I took a Mixed Media class that focused on collaging and integrating different mediums and techniques. Spring of my senior year, I plan to take a Drawing and Painting class to strengthen my foundational techniques.
